OKOWA COMMENDS ISAIAH BOZIMO, SAN FOR IMPACTING POSITIVELY ON HIS ADMINISTRATION.

(The immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, in a heart to heart discussion with Mr Isaiah Bozimo, SAN, during his reception party at Emerald Hall, A-Class Event Centre, Kashim Ibrahim way Maitama, Abuja.)


The immediate past Governor of Delta State, His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa has commended the former Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo, SAN, for the positive impact he made on his administration through several innovations, he introduced in the justice system of the State.

Senator Okowa gave the commendation in Abuja at a reception organized for guests in honour of Mr. Isaiah Bozimo SAN on his inauguration as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN.

The former Governor stated that the elevation of Mr. Isaiah Bozimo, to the rank of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, was well deserved. He stated that for the relatively short period of less than two years that he served as Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Bozimo was able to turn things around in the justice sector and at the State Ministry of Justice

. He said this was particularly evident in the enthusiasm with which the staff of the Ministry related with him as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.

He stated that the new Senior Advocate of Nigeria had always  demonstrated his intellect, passion, hard work, and uncommon commitment to his assignments, adding that it was an honour to chair the reception for Mr. Isaiah Bozimo.

Senator Okowa recalled that each time Mr. Isaiah Bozimo spoke during State Executive Council meetings, It was obvious to all that he spoke with true knowledge and intellect. 

He congratulated Mr. Bozimo on his inauguration as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

In separate interviews with newsmen, a former Attorney - General and Commissioner for Justice in Delta State, Dr . Peter Mrakpor, SAN, the Solicitor-General Delta State and Permanent Secretary in the Delta State Ministry of Justice, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe, President of the Centre for Socio-legal Studies Abuja, Prof. Yemi Akinseye-George, SAN and the Director, office of the Public Defender in the Ministry of Justice, Mr. Ernest Edomwonyi, said that the elevation of Mr Isaiah Bozimo to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria was a vindication of the hard work and efforts he put in as the Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice in the State.

Erebe, particularly described Mr. Isaiah Bozimo, as an innovative and technologically driven Attorney-General who did so much during his tenure. He urged staff of the State Ministry of Justice to continue to be at their best in their service to the State.


Dr. Peter Mrakpor described Mr. Bozimo, as a responsible gentleman, noting that he was happy that he had joined the league of Senior Advocates of Nigeria while advising him to make the best out of the elevation.

Prof. Akinseye George, stated that as Attorney -General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo SAN was at the forefront of the introduction of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2022 amongst other innovations.

He added that Mr. Isaiah Bozimo was an excellent choice for the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria .

Responding, Mr. Isaiah Bozimo SAN expressed gratitude to God and to everyone who had in one way or the other impacted on his life, stating  that the experiences he had gone through in life contributed in making him what he is today.

Bozimo stated that the innovations  and successes recorded in the Ministry of Justice during his time as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice were achieved through the collective efforts of staff of the Ministry.

OFA CONGRATULATES OBOREVWORI ON APPEAL COURT VICTORY


The  former Delta State People's Democratic Party ( PDP) Field Operations Committee in the 2023 general elections, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori on his  resounding victory at the Appeal Court 

A statement the  Chairman of the Field Operations Committee, Dr. Henry Ofa said that the victory was an attestation of the confidence reposed the Governor's capacity to fully implement the MORE Agenda in the interest of Deltans. 

The statement described the Appeal Court victory as a confirmation of  the confidence of Deltans have in the leadership style of the Oborevwori's administration and the PDP as a party.

Ofa noted that as the  Chairman of the Field Operations Committee during the election campaigns, he observed  that Deltans had  great hopes in Oborevwori's administration and would continue to support his  commitment to the development of the state.

IFEADI CALLS FOR IMMORTALIZATION OF INDIVIDUALS FOR INVESTING HUMANITY.


An educationist and a teacher with the  King's College, Lagos, a Federal Unity School,  Mrs. Evelyn Ifeadi, has  described her mother, late Mrs. Helena Aboloma as her gist partner.

She stressed the need for society to immortalise individuals for investing in humanity by impacting on lives.

Mrs. Ifeadi, who is an Assistant Director of Education,  Federal Ministry of Education , made the call at Ubulu-okiti, Aniocha South Local Government Area , Delta State while fielding questions from newsmen days after the burial ceremony of her mother, late Mrs. Helena Aboloma.

She said that her mother had touched several  lives , particularly the less privilege,   adding that the deceased encouraged and  empowered  many children that came around her to be self reliant .

Mrs. Ifeadi stated that her mother trained many people that were not her biological children  in the higher institutions , stressing that she was always ready to attend to the needs of every person that came across her to the extent that she would not relent until such individuals have gotten sufficient support to stand on their own.

She  described the mother as a devoted Christan that built the foundation of her life in the fear of God , adding that she inculcated in them the spirit of kindness.

While saying that her mother was her role model, who inspired her so much in life , Mrs. Ifeadi disclosed that as part of measures to immortalise her mother, she would write a poem in memory of their mother which she said her children and great grand children would read and know attributes of her mother.

She explained that her mother was her gist partner and closest friend , emphasizing that they would always sustain her endearing legacies.

Earlier in a  solemn burial mass at the St. James Catholic Church, Ubulu-okiti , Monsignor John  Ikem Aduba ,  harped on the need for christians to live a Godly  life and fight the good fight of faith while awaiting the crown of glory at the end of time .

In their separate condolence messages, Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Kingsley Emu ,  Dr. Festus Okubor,  the Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area,Pastor Jude Chukwunwike , Dr. Emmanuel Mafiana and Chief Dan Okenyi  described late Mrs. Helena as a woman of peace and urged the children to sustain her legacies.

APPRENTICE DIED AFTER BEATING FROM HIS MASTER FOR COMING LATE TO WORK.

 

It was a sad incident that took place in Sapele as an apprentice in a carpenter workshop died after being beaten by his master for coming late to work.

It was gathered that the owner of a carpenter workshop along New Ogorode road Sapele disciplined his apprentice for coming late to work,.

The owner of the workshop, identified as Orunor later accused the apprentice of stealing his ATM card and in the process, beat him up.

When the apprentice got home after work, he complained to his parents that he is not feeling too fine and related what happened to him at his place of work.

The parents of the apprentice decided to take him to the hospital for checkup but before this arrangement could be concluded, the apprentice identified as Onome, died.

As the news got to the hearing of Orunor, he took to his heels and as at the time of filing this report, he has not been seen and his workshop had been under lick and key.

The incident was reported to the Police in Sapele and a police source confirm the incident, noting that the case is being investigated and all effort is being made to arrest Orunor that is on the run.

The carpenter workshop is situated at New Ogorode road, close to Sapele Clinic.

DIPA, DTSG TO ORGANISE STAKEHOLDERS CONFERENCE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN IN ASABA.



The Dyslexia Initiative Project Africa (DIPA), a non governmental organization in collaboration with the  Delta State Government will organize Dyslexia Stakeholders Conference and Awareness Campaign in Asaba.

A statement from the founder  of DIPA , Enddy Sunny- Udjor  indicated that conference would hold on Wednesday, November 15, 2023  at the Hotel Benizia, DBS Road, Asaba .


The statement listed participants for the workshop to include educational institutions with focus on primary school educators and administrators , stakeholders in relevant ministries and parastatals as well well as the media .

According to Enddy Sunny- Udjor, the vision of the organization was to build dyslexia facilities and protect the fundamental learning rights of the People living with dyslexia with a focus on children and educators 

 She also explained that its mission was to  champion activities that were geared towards creating an inclusive society for people living with dyslexia by eliminating discrimination through awareness creation, educational skills, and employment in Africa one at a time.

DIBASHI, ASSET TO HUMANITY, SAYS UKAH, DELSU VC, EGWUNYENGA, ESENWA, ESENWEZIE, OTHERS.



The immediate past Director -General of Delta State Teachers Professional Development Centre (TPDC) , Dr. Tony Dibashi , has been described as a great asset to humanity.

A cross section of dignitaries  stated this during the 65th birthday celebration of Dr. Dibashi in his residence,  shortly after a thanksgiving service at St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church, Asaba.

In their separate remarks,  the Director -General of Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Chief Patrick Ukah, the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University, Abraka, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, member representing Oshimili North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Barr. Frank Esenwa and the ex-while Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa administration, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika and the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Hon. (Mrs) Princess Pat Ajudua, said that the celebrant was a blessing to Oshimili North and the state in general.

They said that 65 years birthday was worth celebrating considering the achievements of Dr. Dibashi,  adding that it was a thing of joy that he was celebrating his birthday in good health and prayed God's guidance and protection for him .

Ifeajika particularly stated that Dr. Dibash was an apostle of Okowa's political dynasty, stressing that they would continue to identify with one another.


Also speaking, the Executive Chairman of Oshimili North, Hon. (Chief) Innocent Esenwezie , the Okilolo of Akwukwu-Igbo, Dr. Philip Agbeyeke,  immediate past Special Assistant to Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa on Teachers Professional Development Centre, Dr. Anthony Onwuka and Mr. Celestine Afokobah aa well as the Councillor representing Okpanam ward 13 , Hon. Barry Eziuchebuogalanya Okonkwo noted that the celebrant was a jolly good fellow, who according to them , had touched several lives.

Hon. Chief Esenwezie described Dr. Dibashi as a mentor to so many of them, adding that the values he has continued to bring to Oshimili North and the state at large was highly commendable.

The Oshimili North Council Boss  said that Dr. Dibashi has always been a pillar of support to him since his days as a councillor, his previous appointments and now the council chairman.

Hon.(Chief) Esenwezie hinted that his administration was focused on the implementation of the bye law , saying that major aspect of the bye law the prohibition of things like 'deve' but established proper channel of community leadership as far as land administration was concerned.

Responding, Dr. Tony Dibashi and his wife, Mrs. Comfort Dibash thanked friends and associates for identifying with them just as Dr. Dibashi encouraged people to always put God first in their lives.

DELTA STATE SOLICITOR-GENERAL COMMENDS JUSTICES OF THE PEACE FOR THE ROLES THEY PERFORM.

The Delta State Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary,  Ministry of Justice, Mr. Omamuzo Erebe has commended the Delta Association of Justices of the Peace for their roles in ensuring the maintenance of peace in the State.

  Erebe gave the commendation when the executives of the Association of Justices of the Peace paid a courtesy on the  Solicitor-General in his Office in Asaba. 

He said due to the enormous powers of a Justice of the Peace,  the holders of such an Office, (a  Justice of the Peace) must be a person of unimpeachable dignity who has right standing with the Community where he resides. 

Erebe said that before one was appointed as a Justice of the Peace, he would be subjected to security screening. 

He stated that
Under the Administration of Criminal Justice Law 2022, the powers of a Justice of the Peace had been expanded.

Earlier in his address, the President, Delta State Association of Justices of the Peace, Sir (Chief) L.S. Odjoji JP stated that their key mandate as Justices of the Peace was to ensure the maintainence of peace and order in the State, particularly in the communities where they reside.

He also said that the Association interfaces with traditional rulers, opinion leaders, president-generals, and youth bodies of the various communities on the importance of maintaining peace in their domains.

Chief Odjoji stated that the Association routinely carries out public enlightenment on the importance of maintaining peace through jingles and billboards by using news and print media, emphasizing that recently their jingles on peace were aired on various media outlets.

 The President called on citizens of the State to maintain peace to ensure growth adding that the cost of crises was far more than maintaining the peace. 

The President called for the Government’s assistance to the Association to enable it to execute its mandate.

 attended by Directors and Units Heads of the Ministry of Justice.

FOUNDATION PRESENTS N100,000 CHEQUE TO A WIDOW.


Dr. Adekola Foundation for the Needy Persons In the Society has donated  the sum of One Hundred Thousand Naira  to Mrs Adam Rashidat Olanrewaju,a widow as a support to the woman and her family as a result of the death of her husband.

The foundation made the presentation on Friday, November 3, 2023 shortly after
 the Jumaat service at the newly stablished Asaba Community Central Mosque .

Speaking during the presentation, the  Chief Imam of the Mosque, Dr Adekola Yinusa,  said that it was a gesture from Dr Adekola Foundation for the Needy Persons in our Society.

The widow thanked Dr. Adekola Foundation for the gesture and said that the donation would go a long way to assist the family.


 It would be recalled that Mrs Adams Rashidat lost her husband last month as a result of nose cancer.
          
Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of  Brother Adams Shuaib and other departed faithfuls.     

The occasion was witnessed by Islamic adherents after the Jumaat service that took place on Friday, 3rd of November, 2023.
