A day before the commencement of the widely circulated Nationwide protest, Sapele residents embarked on panic buying of foodstuffs in major Markets in SAPELE.
A visit to Sapele main Market and others in SAPELE Metropolis reveal the panic in both traders and customers as many were seen scrambling to stock their homes with the little foodstuffs they could afford and the markets were all crowded.
Speaking with some persons at the scene, the following were unfolded.
Molly Akatugba, a trader that sells bags of rice at Sapele main market, attributed the unusual crowd in the market today to the protest that will start tomorrow.
Molly said, he will not come to market tomorrow for sale even if there is no violence in the protest for security reasons.
Atunusha Margaret, a civil servant that came to buy goods at Okirighwre Market said, no one knows how the protest will fare tomorrow and surely, markets will not open, so she had to stock her home with few foodstuffs.
Charles Ashegbedeye, a transporter said he prays the protest is peaceful.
Charles opined that should it become violent, many things will go wrong hence he had to take time off business to get some foodstuffs.
Robinson Rotimi said he hope to come out tomorrow for the protest because cost of living is too hard for him and hope the protest will be peaceful so that it's purpose of telling the ruling class that the masses are really suffering will be achieved.
Joanna Ekpekpe, a student that was also seen at Amukpe Market said her parents keep telling her that their living wage can not take care of the living and that things are getting harder the more.
She displayed the little foodstuffs she had bought with N30,000 and said " how can families survive".
Joanna said she will join the protest tomorrow, whether peaceful or violent.

It will be recalled that some persons have called for a Nationwide protest against current hardship and bad government, and the protest is schedule to commence tomorrow August 1st to August 10.
