SAPELE NUJ IN CONJUCTURE WITH SAPELE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL, HOLDS A ONE DAY CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR MEDIA PRACTITIONERS.

The Sapele Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalist( NUJ), in Conjuncture With the Sapele local government Council is set to hold a capacity building Seminar for media practitioners in Delta State on Thursday 27th February 2025 at the local government Council Secretariat.

The seminar that is organize for media practitioners in Delta State will also occasion the induction of personalities as Patrons and Grand Patrons of the Sapele Correspondent Chapel of  the NUJ.

Heralding the forthcoming seminar, Comrade Nelson Agbajor, Chairman, Sapele Correspondent Chapel of the NUJ said the occasion will witness the presence of His Excellency ,  Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor, Delta State,the Honourable Commissioner for Works( Rural Roads and Public Information), Mr. Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu,  the Chairman Sapele Local government Council, Okakuro Bright Afure Abeke and others.

Agbajor said Two keynote speakers will  anchor the theme for the seminar, which is " Effective Media Reportage: A Tool For Democratic Consolidation".

The speakers for the seminar shall be Comrade Churchill Oyowe, President, Nigeria Union of Journalist, Delta State Council and Comrade Michael Akeogwu, Immediate Past Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalist Delta State Council and SSA to the Delta State Governor on Media.

Agbajor call on all Sapele residents especially media practitioners,to feel free to attend the seminar, for no knowledge gain is lost.

The seminar is expected to kick start with registration by 8.00am and the main event will commence by 10.00am on Thursday 27th February  2025, at the Sapele local government Council Secretariat.

SAPELE OKPE COMMUNITY/ ABIGBORODO LAND DISPUTE, RESULTS IN INTIMIDATION AND VIOLENCE.


The Sapele OKPE Community has raised alarm to the used of Force by Youths of Abigborodo Community to claim of OKPE land resulting in the attack of Mr. Patrick Gageche,  an indigene of Sapele okpe Community from otonyasere Village who was going to fishing in the early hours of Monday  03 February 2025.

The press briefing was called on Tuesday at the Sapele OKPE Community town hall as the issue of the land dispute escalates.

Mr. Patrick Gageche was said to have been shot by the youth president of (ie youth Leader) of Abigborodo Community,  Mr. Ephrain Mebradu.

Temiagin pointed out that before now, the Abigorodo people led by one chief Emmanuel oritsejolomi Uduaghan of Abigborodo Community in warrı North LGA has been Peddling Fake rumours and parading Fake documents,  from Various Agencies claiming Otonyasere and ugbікоkо Lands in Sapele Okpe community in Okpe kingdom Under the over Lordship of His Royal Majesty, Maj Gen Felix Mujakperuo CFR, mni, Orue I, the orodje of Okpe Kingdom, but for the recent Facts presented at a press briefing by the Sapele Okpe Okpe Community chairman Chief. Onoriode E. Temiagin and the Ugbukurusu Chairman, Evangelist Friday Azan, which suppressed all Abigborodo False claims with reference back to colonial Era brought the Facts to the fore.

This true position  has pushed Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan  to Escalate voilence In advancing into Otonyasere village, leading to the shooting of an Innocent Person, by name Patrick Gageche  whose fore father name  appeared on the Schedule of forestry ordnance of 1933. 

The Abigborodo people through Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan has been misleading the people of Abigborodo.



Chief Temiagin again emphasized that in issues of land dispute, Civilize people approach the regular Courts to verifiable their claims, instead,  Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan resolved to use of force and Intimidation, this is Unacceptable by the people of Sapele okpe Community.

We are by this press briefing, Calling On the Federal and state Government to step in now and  for Security Agencies, to dislodge the armed bearings thugs of Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan  from Okpe /Urhobo Forest reserve in okpe Kingdom, as a stitch in time Saves Nine. 

Temiagin finally appeal to Youths of Sapele OKPE Community to remain calm and wait for the response of the Delta  State government .
