Chief Cyril Abeye Ogodo celebrated victory in the Chairmanship position of the Sapele Okpe Community election as attested by Lt. Col Babuba Abeke.
Speaking with the press, Chief Cyril Abeye Ogodo thanked God for the electoral Victory and promised good leadership and extend thanks to Sen. Ede Dafinone for the peaceful conduct of the election.
When asked while he was so calm during the election process, he said he is so confident of winning as he got the blessings of the 4 quarters of Sapele Okpe Community during his consultation meetings before the election, so there was no cause for alarm.
Chief Cyril Ogodo also expressed gratitude to members of the Sapele Okpe Community for the confidence they reposed in him through the ballot. He described the electoral process as free, fair, credible, and peaceful, noting that the outcome reflected the collective will of the people. According to him, the election marks the beginning of a new chapter of inclusive leadership and sustainable development for the community.
The newly elected chairman pledged to operate an open-door administration that would accommodate all interests regardless of political differences. He assured members of the community that his leadership would be driven by transparency, accountability, and quality representation, while prioritizing initiatives that would promote peace, unity, and the overall progress of the Sapele Okpe Community.
Chief Cyril Abeye Ogodo also expressed profound appreciation to the Chairman of the Sapele Okpe Community Land Trust Association, Senator Ede Dafinone, for his commitment to ensuring the success of the election.
Also elected during the exercise was Hon. Churchill Ayomanor as Vice Chairman,
Mr. Victory Abeke, as Secretary.
Mr. Charles Otugwor as the Community Treasurer.
Mr. Olokpa as spokesman, and others.
The election was supervised by respected community leaders, including Comrade Moses Odiete, Chief Moses Ogodo, Chief Babuba, and Chief Godfrey Dafinone, among others. Their presence and oversight contributed to the credibility and smooth conduct of the exercise, which concluded peacefully.
Community members expressed optimism that this new executive will build on the foundation of unity and provide purposeful leadership that will advance the welfare and development of the Sapele Okpe Community.
The election that was held on Sunday July 5 at the Sapele Okpe Community Hall at Olympia in Sapele saw members of all Four quarters of the Sapele Okpe community in attendance.
Accreditation, of voters and voting went on smoothly same with counting of ballots for other offices contested for.
