The Sapele Okpe Community has dissociated herself from the protest by some yet to be identified persons against the Chief Executive Officer of SEPLAT Energy PLC, Mr. Roger Brown on Friday 24 March.
Chief Onoriode Emmanuel Temiagin, the Chairman, Sapele Okpe Community stated this in a press briefing at the Community town hall at Olympia on Friday 24 March.
Chief Temiagin pointed out that it came to his notice that a purported protest organised by some persons was staged against Mr. Roger Brown, the CEO of SEPLAT Energy limited and he stand to say that the protesters are imposters as Sapele Okpe Community, the recognised landlord to SEPLAT Energy PLC have no hand in the protest and the publication flying in the air.
Temiagin further stated that Sapele Okpe Community has nothing against Mr. Roger Brown and the Chairman of SEPLAT Energy PLC, Mr. Basil Omiyi stressing that any issues partaining the Board of Directors of SEPLAT Energy PLC should be settled among themselves and the Community should not be used for such purpose.
The Chairman, Sapele Okpe Community further pointed out that though the Community needs employment and contract patronage for her people, which has improved slightly under the leadership of Mr. Roger Brown and Mr. Basil Omiyi, they look forward to more improvement especially in the area of employment/ promotion of indigenes of Sapele Okpe Community into managerial positions in the company.
Temiagin butressed that the protest is the handwork of enemies of Sapele Okpe Community and the Community refute and condemn their action.
"The protest and publications are not from Sapele indigenes but from hired persons, imposters and impersonators, as such, their protest/ publication should be disregarded"-- He said.
