Environmental Sanitation,Abeke Clean Up Sapele Metropolis As Residents Comply To Sanitation Directives.


The executive Chairman Sapele Local Government area mobilized health workers and Sapele residents in cleaning their surroundings and clearing refuge dumps in Sapele Metropolis.

Men of the Fourth estate of the realm gathered at the local government Secretariat as early as 6.30am and were assigned to various areas/ location within Sapele Metropolis to monitor the exercise.

Health workers were seen with vehicles and bulldozers clearing refuge dumps at various spots in Sapele Metropolis.

Dump sites at New Ogorode road, Okirighwe by OKPE Grammar School, New Ogorode road by Lexi Junction, MRS Filling Station, Amougodo, Sapele main Market and others were attended to.

Sapele residents were seen clearing their surroundings and packing drains close to their residents.

At the Sapele main Market, traders were also seen keeping their surroundings clean.

As early as 7.00am till 10.00am, there were restriction on vehicles as everyone was advised to remain at home and keep their surroundings tidy.

Some Residents interviewed expressed satisfaction with the sanitation exercise.

Jacob Iwobi, a resident seen clearing his surrounding said the call to keep our environment tidy by the local government Council Chairman was a welcome development as cleanliness is next to Godliness.
Jacob said he is so satisfied with the response of residents as everyone came out to tidy their surrounding.

Onomo Ukpede another resident said she is so happy that the present administration takes sanitation of the environment serious as everywhere in Sapele Metropolis are being attended to with monitoring team on ground to ensure proper compliance.

Few defaulters were apprehended, asked to face the Sanitation Mobile Court.
