Sapele Residents Calls On NURTW To Reduce Transport Fare.

Sapele residents has called on executives and members of the National Union of Road Transport workers, Sapele chapter to reduce cost of transportation in Sapele as crush on fuel and cash is easing off.

It would be recalled that as a result of the cash crush and fuel scarcity/ price hike, the cost of transportation was affected as it equally went up with the hope that when things normalizes, it will come back to its previous price before the crisis.

Mr. Monday Omoregbe, the spokes person for concerned  Sapele residents on this issue said despite the obvious fact that the pump price of fuel has come down and cash is gradually being available unlike before, the hiked price of transportation refused to come down.

According to him, Sapele to Warri was hiked to N1000.

Sapele to Benin was hike to N1, 500 same with Sapele to Abraka and these prices still remain same after the reduction of pump price of fuel and the ease in getting cash in town.

The concern group called on NURTW to be reasonable and work in line with the economic realities in order not to over burden Sapele residents unnecessarily.

Omoregbe noted that other towns in Delta State are not as outrageous as the NURTW in Sapele noting that transport Fare from Warri to Sapele is N800, a journey of same distance.

Benin to Sapele is N1000 while that of Sapele to Benin is N1, 500.
