Unit 19 Vigilantes group at Ugberikoko Sapele has purged itself of a bad egg alledged to have stolen Three wraps of starch from a restaurant at Ugberikoko area in the town.
An eye witness that pleaded anonymity testified that a member of the Vigilantes group in the area came to a restaurant with a wrap of starch to buy food, in the process of attending to him, he stole Three other wraps of starch and was caught but he escaped and ran away.
The issue was then reported to the Vigilantes commander in the area who traced and apprehended the culprit.
Commander Sule, in charge of Unit 19 at Ugberikoko told newsmen that when he got the news, he had to swing into action as the good name of the Vigilantes group is being dented by some bad eggs.
Sule said, though the offence looks small but it should not be mentioned among members of the vigilante group as there had been cases of petty stealing of this sort in the area and if action is not taken, people will begin to link these activities with members of the Vigilantes group.
Commander Sule thereafter de-robed the culprit by taking from him his vigilante uniform and informing the public that he is no longer one of them and should not be seen carrying out activities that pertain to the Vigilantes group.
Sule further said the disciplinary action is to also send signal to others in the group that the Vigilantes group will not tolerate criminality within it's rank.
